Reading Time: 3 minutes
In the Shoot Slayr sentence builder, you have two massive levers that dictate the entire ‘vibe’ and logic of your shoot: Shoot Type and Place.
Think of these as your primary art direction tools. When you change the Shoot Type, you aren't just changing a label, you are changing how the "brain" interprets your location and lighting.
1. Location: Your Outdoor Passport
When you select Location, the system prepares for a real-world, exterior setting.
-
The Logic: The engine prioritizes natural sunlight, outdoor textures and environmental depth.
-
How to use ‘Place’: Give the engine high-definition directions. Don't just say "city"—say "Melbourne Laneways" or "Central Park Ice Rink." * The Result: This tells the machine exactly what architecture, flora, and light to bring into the frame to make the location feel authentic.
2. Interior: Moving Inside
Switching to Interior shifts the prompting logic immediately. The system now understands it is working within four walls.
-
The Logic: The engine prioritizes indoor lighting (like ambient lamps or window light) and atmospheric textures.
-
How to use ‘Place’: Your direction should match the room. Use specific settings like "Old School Barbershop" or "Modern Beauty Salon" instead of our previous 'Melbourne Laneways'
-
The Result: You get a lived-in, moody, or professional indoor atmosphere that feels structurally correct for an interior space.
3. Studio: The Controlled Hero
If you want a clean, high-end product vibe, select Studio. This is for when the product is the hero and distractions are dialed way back.
-
The Logic: This assumes a staged, professional photography environment with controlled lighting.
-
How to use ‘Place’: You can leave this blank for a standard setup, or use it to build your specific set. Try "Blue background" or "Infinite white space with white plinths."
-
The Result: A high-end catalog feel that looks like it was shot on a professional soundstage.
4. Variety: The Creative Wildcard
Feeling adventurous? Variety gives the machine a longer leash to experiment with different angles, setups and interpretations.
-
The Logic: The system goes "wider" and "looser," mixing different shot styles to give you a range of options.
-
Pro-Tip: When running Variety, steer your Place toward an exterior location. It gives the engine a stronger anchor to hold onto while it plays with the experimental shots.
Go get 'em.
